This past weekend I raced the first east coast race of the season. After a hard off season recovering from a brain injury that almost put me off the bike for good, it felt amazing to get back on the bike and on the top step of the podium. I am taking the steps I need to before I step up to the Pro class. None of this would be possible with out the support of my girlfriend Julie, Rob at NewportBicycle, and Will from Giant bikes and all of my sponsors. This season is really coming together. Could not be happier.
Thank you to all my sponsors

Big changes happening at Team Voncooper for 2014, but never the less the training never stops. The key to fitness is consistency, kind of ironic the key to winning championships is the same. #2014 #raceandtrain #racetowin

Pat’s Peak, NH:
This past weekend was round 3 of the Eastern States Cup atPat’s Peak in Henniker, NH. The track was the same as many years past, but thisweekend it was wet, very wet. With a tropical storm passing on Friday, it madefor interesting track conditions and very difficult racing. Most of the trackwas relatively dry with very slippery roots and rocks. However, one section inparticular was a total mud bog. It seemed as if all the rain from the stormdrained into that one section.
Cat 1 19-29
Willem had one ofhis best race weekends to date. As Willem said “something just clicked andgoing fast was easy.” He won his class by over 3.65 seconds and would have been10th in pro. That is his first win since 2010.
Steve came intothis race with high expectations, as it is his hometown race. On a very shorttrack the few little mistakes he made put him into 4th on the day. Stilla great result for Steve.
Tim was feelinggreat all practice and is really making forward progress so far this season. With a field of over 20 top east coast pros 8th on the day was agreat effort for him.
Voncooper Jr. Development:
Andrew made his Jrexpert debut this past weekend and did not disappoint. He won his class with adominating performance, 4.13 seconds up on second place.
Cat 2 0-18
Roberto is makinggreat progress and is learning a lot and he was fastest in the POC speed trap. However, still uncomfortable in the mud, he put in a good effort for a 9thin Cat 2 0-18.
This weekend we would like to give Come-2-You mobiledetailing service and Rob Leite for helping keep our bikes clean in the muddyconditions.
Next weekend Team Voncooper will be at Sugarbush Resort inWarren, VT for Eastern States Cup 4. As always, thank you to all our sponsors!

We made it back to the east coast in one piece... kind of. Gavin was experiencing some wrist pain in both wrists and it turns out he broke both of them. Gavin will be sidelined for at least 6 weeks.
On a more posative note our 2013 team jerseys arrived in time for the first Eastern States Cup on the east coast.
Here is a picture of our team bike for this season. After some good seat time we all feel that this is the most dialed bike the team has ever had. We could not get to this point with out the support of our sponsors.
We plan on producing "The Adventures of Team Voncooper" videos every 2-3 weeks. Here is episode 1 from our first trip of the season.
We are heading to Mountain Creek Bike Park and Plattekill bike park over the next two weeks. Really looking forward to getting back to racing on the east coast.

As always a big thank you to our sponsors!

Since our departure from the wintery east coast we have been more busy than ever. First we raceed the ProGrt at Bootleg. Gavin finished 9th, Dylan crashed and finished 30th, and Willem finished 11th in Cat 1.
After Bootleg we made out way to Southern California to meet some sponsors and get ready for ProGrt 2 at Fontana. We visited Nema, Ryno Power, Shimano, and Atlas Brace.
Shimano Atlas Brace
After we visited with sponsors and did some training and then it was time for ProGrt 2 at Fontana. Gavin rode with two hurt wrists and finished 16th, Dylan pushed hard and finished 20th. Willem crashed and finished 6th in Cat 1.
Now we are making our way north to the Santa Cruz bike fest and Sea Otter. We have met some amazing people on our trip and are having a really great time! See everyone at Sea Otter!

2013 product is starting to roll in. We are very exited to be supported by a really cool fender company like Mucky Nutz. We will no longer be cutting up tubes and using zip ties to keep the mud away. Mucky Nutz will be helping keep out bikes clean and our vision clear! Check our their full line up of fenders.

Can anyone help me out? I know this sounds kind of lame but I am not well versed in social marketing. I would like to send a message to everyone that really loves cycling. I do not use twitter and do not have an organized way of getting some of my own “rage” out. I want to tell the world of cycling to please join me in telling Pat McQuaid to f##k off and resign. I have never seen such an abuse of power in cycling’s history- resign Pat if you love cycling. Resign even if you hate the sport.
Pat McQuaid, you know damn well what has been going on in cycling, and if you want to deny it, then even more reasons why those who love cycling need to demand that you resign.
I have a file with what I believe is well documented proof that will exonerate Paul.
Pat in my opinion you and Hein are the corrupt part of the sport. I do not want to include everyone at the UCI because I believe that there are many, maybe most that work at the UCI that are dedicated to cycling, they do it out of the love of the sport, but you and your buddy Hein have destroyed the sport.
Pat, I thought you loved cycling? At one time you did and if you did love cycling please dig deep inside and remember that part of your life- allow cycling to grow and flourish- please! It is time to walk away. Walk away if you love cycling.
As a reminder I just want to point out that recently you accused me of being the cause of USADA’s investigation against Lance Armstrong. Why would you be inclined to go straight to me as the “cause”? Why shoot the messenger every time?
Every time you do this I get more and more entrenched. I was in your country over the last two weeks and I asked someone that knows you if you were someone that could be rehabilitated. His answer was very quick and it was not good for you. No was the answer, no, no , no!
The problem for sport is not drugs but corruption. You are the epitome of the word corruption.
You can read all about Webster’s definition of corruption. If you want I can re-post my attorney’s response to your letter where you threaten to sue me for calling the UCI corrupt. FYI I want to officially reiterate to you and Hein that in my opinion the two of your represent the essence of corruption.
I would encourage anyone that loves cycling to donate and support Paul in his fight against the Pat and Hein and the UCI. Skip lunch and donate the amount that you would have spent towards that Sunday buffet towards changing the sport of cycling.
I donated money for Paul’s defense, and I am willing to donate a lot more, but I would like to use it to lobby for dramatic change in cycling. The sport does not need Pat McQuaid or Hein Verbruggen- if this sport is going to change it is now. Not next year, not down the road, now! Now or never!
People that really care about cycling have the power to change cycling- change it now by voicing your thought and donating money towards Paul Kimmage’s defense, (Paul, I want to encourage you to not spend the money that has been donated to your defense fund on defending yourself in Switzerland. In my case, a USA citizen, I could care less if I lost the UCI’s bogus lawsuit. Use the money to lobby for real change).
If people really want to clean the sport of cycling up all you have to do is put your money where your mouth is.
Don’t buy a USA Cycling license. Give up racing for a year, just long enough to put the UCI and USA cycling out of business. We can then start from scratch and let the real lovers in cycling direct where and how the sport of cycling will go.
Please make a difference.

The 2012 downhill season is over.It has been a great season full of ups and downs. Team Voncooper reached all of our goals in 2012. That is something we are proud to be able to say.
Team Voncooper came into the Eastern States Cup finals inthe hunt for the pro overall. We were also trying to keep up our consistencyand reach the goal of having a rider on the podium at every Eastern States Cup.
The track was typical Plattekill. It was steep and full ofloose rocks. The weather was also very typical for this time of year in the northeast, cold and rainy. This made for slick conditions that are always difficult, but a blast to ride.
The day of the race had better weather, but was still verycold. The track dried out and was running fast. Willem struggled to get up tospeed and would finish in 10th on the day. Tim had an over the bars crash that put him in 14th.
Dylan was feeling focused and ready for a podium finish. Yetstruggled a little during his run, finishing in a very respectable 5thplace. He has been getting faster and more focused every race.
Gavin had an amazing weekend. He won this race by over fiveseconds! He is finishing off the season on a very strong note. With back toback wins and the Eastern States Cup overall, he can confidently set is sightson our goal for 2013 racing a full ProGRT series.
The season was very impressive for Voncooper. Willem endedthe season in 3rd overall in Cat 1 19-29. Dylan finished the season in 8th,Tim Finished in 5th, Phil Finished in 3rd, and Gavin gotthe overall win!
All in all, this season was our biggest to date. We hadriders at three rounds of the World Cup. We had riders on the podium at everrace we attended except for two. We had a strong showing at National Champs. Wealso made the investment in a new team trailer! We are planning on followingthe ProGrt for 2013 and are looking forward to the national level ofcompetition. As always, none of this would be possible with out our sponsors.Thank you for your support.
